Guasha

Gua Sha (Scraping)

Gua Sha is a traditional Chinese treatment in which a smooth-edged tool is used to scrape on skin surfaces with appropriate pressure. This approach will elicit some dark red, rash-like dots called petechiae, which is the metabolites deposited in the body. It can be performed on the neck, shouders and back as well as the arms or legs.

This process can help with clearing the toxins (metabolites) with blood flow and boost the fresh blood to generate a ‘lifting’ effect on your skin, reducing toxins in the human body and promote healing processes. Gua Sha can also be done on the face to improve the manifestation of the complexion with appropriate pressure.

The materials of the Gua Sha tools can be jade, smooth stone and ceramic spoon.
